What's New in DailyQuest 2.9
Version 2.9 is mostly about the reward half of DailyQuest — the part that makes the quest half worth doing. Here are the main changes.
Your partner can ask for the reward they want
Until now, one person created the rewards and the other worked toward them. Which meant the person picking the prizes was never the person redeeming them, and reward lists slowly filled up with things that sounded good to the wrong half of the couple.
In 2.9, your partner can request a reward directly. They name what they actually want, and you decide what it costs in points — or suggest something else instead. The ask and the price stay in separate hands, so the points still mean something.
There is a longer piece on how the flow works and what makes a good request: What Should the Reward Be? Now Your Partner Can Just Tell You.
Redeeming a reward is an actual moment now
Cashing in points used to be a quiet transaction. Tap, balance goes down, back to the list.
Now there is a treasure chest to open, confetti when it does, and a card you can share with your partner afterward. It sounds like a small thing. It isn't — redeeming is the payoff for everything else in the app, and it should feel like one. Sending the card is also the easiest way to tell your partner their reward actually landed.
More reliable quest reminders
Per-quest reminders arrived back in 2.8, and 2.9 continues the work of making them dependable. A reminder is only worth setting if it shows up when it said it would.
Everything above is live now. If you have been putting off setting up a reward list because you were not sure what your partner would want, 2.9 is a good moment to stop guessing and just let them tell you.
