Canadian Citizenship Test
Last Updated: March 5, 2026
Privacy Policy
Honeymilk Studio ("we", "us", or "our") operates Canadian Citizenship Test Mock (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and all applicable privacy legislation.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect:
- Name, email address, or contact information
- Account credentials or passwords (no account is required)
- Location data (GPS, IP-based location, etc.)
- Photos, contacts, calendar, or other personal files
- Payment or financial information (all purchases are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — we never see or handle your payment card details)
1.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data on your device using a local database. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:
- Study progress: which questions you have answered, whether your answers were correct, and your progress through chapters and topics.
- Session history: records of study sessions, mock exams, and flashcard reviews, including timestamps and scores.
- Saved items: questions and flashcards you have bookmarked for review.
- App preferences: your chosen theme (light, dark, or Canada), animation settings, and haptic feedback preferences.
1.3 Information Collected by Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services that may collect certain information automatically. We do not control the data these services collect, but we are transparent about their use:
| Service | Purpose | Data Collected | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Display advertisements | Device advertising identifier, IP address, device information (model, OS version), ad interaction data (views, clicks), app usage data for ad relevance | Google Privacy Policy |
| PostHog | Analytics and crash reporting | Anonymized usage events (e.g., which features are used, session duration), device type and OS version, crash and error logs for bug fixing. No personal identifiers are collected. | PostHog Privacy Policy |
| RevenueCat | In-app purchase management | Purchase history (transaction records, amounts, timestamps), anonymous app user identifier, device and app context (operating system, app version). RevenueCat does not receive payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Apple or Google. Data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the United States. | RevenueCat Privacy Policy |
| Google Fonts | Display app typography | IP address and basic request data when font files are fetched | Google Fonts Privacy |
2. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- App functionality: Your locally stored progress data powers the App's study tracking, analytics dashboard, exam readiness calculations, and session resume features — all processed entirely on your device.
- Advertising: Google AdMob uses device and usage data to display relevant advertisements to free-tier users. Premium users who purchase the lifetime upgrade do not see advertisements, and no ad-related data is collected for those users.
- Purchase management: RevenueCat processes purchase transaction records to verify and manage your premium entitlement status. This allows us to unlock premium features after purchase and restore your purchase on a new device using your Apple ID or Google account.
- Analytics and improvement: PostHog helps us understand which features are most useful, identify bugs and crashes, and improve the App experience. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Typography: Google Fonts loads the App's typeface over the internet when available.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not have access to your study progress or session data. The only data sharing occurs through the third-party services described in Section 1.3 above, which operate under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Retention
- Local data: Your study progress and preferences remain on your device until you delete them (using the "Reset All Progress" option in Settings) or uninstall the App.
- Third-party data: Data collected by Google AdMob, PostHog, RevenueCat, and Google Fonts is retained according to their respective privacy policies and data retention schedules.
- Purchase records: Your purchase entitlement status is managed by RevenueCat and can be restored across devices via your Apple ID or Google account. Unlike local study data, purchase status is not lost when you uninstall the App.
5. Your Rights and Choices
5.1 Managing Your Local Data
You have full control over the data stored on your device:
- Delete study progress: Use the "Reset All Progress" option in the App's Settings screen to permanently erase all study sessions, question progress, and flashcard progress.
- Uninstall the App: Removing the App from your device will delete all locally stored data, including progress and preferences.
5.2 Managing Advertising Preferences
- Remove ads entirely: Purchasing the lifetime premium upgrade removes all advertisements from the App. Once premium, no ad-related data is collected or shared with Google AdMob.
- Ad personalization: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, go to Settings > Privacy > Ads.
- Ad identifier: You can reset or limit your device's advertising identifier through your device's privacy settings.
5.3 Your Rights Under PIPEDA
Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you (in our case, none — all data is local to your device or held by third-party services);
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Withdraw consent for data collection (by adjusting device settings or uninstalling the App);
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 is using the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps. The age restriction is also stated in our Terms of Use.
7. Data Security
Because the App stores data locally on your device and does not transmit personal data to our servers, the security of your study data depends on the security of your device. We recommend that you:
- Keep your device's operating system up to date;
- Use a passcode, fingerprint, or face recognition to protect your device;
- Only download the App from official app stores (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
8. International Data Transfers
While the App itself is designed for users in Canada, the third-party services we use (Google AdMob, PostHog, RevenueCat, Google Fonts) may process data on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States. In particular, RevenueCat stores purchase data on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the United States. These services maintain their own safeguards for international data transfers as described in their respective privacy policies.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
